Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyberinfrastructure Engineer to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the planning and execution of advanced Cyberinfrastructure (CI) engineering duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement current and develop new CI solutions to address complex research problems.
  • Work independently to build, monitor, and maintain the integrity of CI systems.
  • Provide technical expertise to teams, projects, and research programs.
  • Contribute to system administration best practices and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of Linux system administration, including operating system installation, configuration, and updates/patches.
  • Broad knowledge of the deployment and management of CI systems, including storage, cluster computing, network, database, and virtualized systems.
  • Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and ability to act as a trusted advisor to the user community.
  • Specialized knowledge in a specific technology, such as HCP cluster, OpenStack cluster, Ceph/JBOD cluster, or parallel file system management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate an academic environment.
  • Ability to contribute to system administration best practices and knowledge transfer.
