Job Summary:

As a Radiologic Technologist PD at Brown University Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality radiologic services to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of radiographic procedures, patient safety, and comfort. You will work closely with the Practice Manager, Site Manager, and Director to ensure that all radiologic examinations are performed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet and greet patients, providing clear explanations of radiologic examinations to reduce apprehension.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort by following prescribed standards and protocols.
• Enter orders and schedule patients for radiologic examinations, maintaining an efficient patient flow.
• Process radiographic images using CR Readers and upload them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for physician review.
• Perform diagnostic procedures, demonstrating a sound understanding of anatomical positioning, physiology, and technical factors to produce optimal results.
• Scan documents into Lifechart when applicable.
• Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and adequate supplies for assigned areas.
• Participate in the training and instruction of radiologic technology for new staff radiographers and students, if applicable.
• Maintain quality assurance, observing department safety regulations, environmental, and infection control in accordance with established department policies and objectives.

Requirements:

• Completion of formal training in an AMA-approved accredited school of radiologic technology or equivalent.
• Current license to work in the State of Rhode Island or eligibility to sit for the ARRT Registry and Board Certified within 3 months of receiving temporary state license.
• Ability to consistently meet critical thinking, interpersonal skills, team membership, customer focus, initiative, and reliability job accountabilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, considering aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Healthcare environment, such as acute care hospitals, physicians' offices, and ancillary healthcare enterprises.
• Works with medical equipment and has direct patient contact.
• Any potential hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions, including the use of safety equipment and protective clothing.
• Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day.
• Subject to electrical and energy hazards.
• May lift and position patients and lift supplies up to 50 pounds.
