We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant II to join our team at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Florida. As a key member of our Hematology Oncology Acute Care Clinic, you will provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients with acute and chronic conditions.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive physical examinations, health assessments, diagnose, and treat acute issues for oncology patients.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and other interventions according to the patient's needs and in accordance with FL state laws and department policies.
- Monitor effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
- Partner with the nursing team to manage hypersensitivity reactions to therapeutic infusions
- Coordinate and facilitate referrals and transitions of care across the continuum.
- Provide patient education and counseling.
- Participate in quality and process improvement activities.
- Adhere to the Mayo Clinic's policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Maintain and update clinical records and documentation.
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications: BLS, ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross and DEA registration required.
