Key Responsibilities:
Under close supervision, this role provides essential support and structure to participants in developing program plans by managing a caseload and adhering to the policies and procedures as directed by the contracting agency and the Program Director. This position involves learning, utilizing, and exemplifying the principles of the What Works system through evidence-based practices in all interactions.

Primary Duties:

  • Develop personalized programs for each participant, establishing measurable criteria for expected behaviors and accomplishments within a defined timeframe.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of plans with participants, documenting progress or necessary revisions to ensure they acquire essential life skills for successful community reintegration.
  • Assist participants in establishing personal budgets, finding suitable housing, enrolling in educational and vocational programs, and engaging in family and community activities to promote financial independence.
  • Orient participants upon arrival to facilitate smooth integration into the program, including completing necessary paperwork and introducing them to other participants.
  • Maintain confidential participant files to support case analysis and program planning while ensuring the security of sensitive information.
  • Verify participants' pass plans through sponsorship to ensure accountability for their whereabouts in the community.
  • Prepare terminal reports upon participant release to summarize program performance and meet contract requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, sharing observations and recommendations to identify and resolve issues collaboratively.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information related to employees, vendors, participants, and external agencies.
  • Monitor compliance with required counseling programs and report any violations as per established protocols.
  • Conduct orientation meetings with new participants to explain program rules and responsibilities clearly.
  • Establish participants' schedules and approve temporary changes for authorized activities.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff levels to foster a cooperative team environment.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, responding positively to management directives.
  • Comply with attendance policies and work overtime as necessary to ensure program coverage and participant safety.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certification in substance abuse or domestic violence preferred, or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Two years of relevant work experience required.
  • Familiarity with community corrections systems and practices.
  • Knowledge of community workforce needs and public/private agency resources.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports in English with correct grammar.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergencies.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using computers and relevant software.
