Diesel Bus Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Bus Technician to join our Coraopolis terminal team at Student Transportation of America (STA). As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing thorough and accurate preventive maintenance inspections, as well as complex repairs and field tests on our diesel bus fleet.

About the Role:

• Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections according to company schedules and complete all required PM maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustment, and tire rotation;
• Carry out Unscheduled Maintenance as needed and directed by supervisor;
• Conduct Complex Repairs and field tests on engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, brakes, and exhaust systems;
• Provide Emergency Roadside Services as needed;
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used on work orders;
• Ensure tools and workspace are kept neat and orderly.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Diesel Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• At least two years of hands-on experience as a diesel bus technician in an automotive, school bus fleet, trucking, or heavy equipment environment;
• ASE certification is a plus; valid CDL with S and P endorsements preferred.

Salary: Estimated salary range is between $50,000 and $70,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
