Procurement Operations Director

The Procurement Operations Director will be responsible for leading the Purchasing Department and ensuring the procurement of direct and indirect goods and services for the company. This includes developing and implementing purchasing strategies, reviewing and approving purchase orders, and confirming delivery of materials. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement purchasing strategies for supplies and materials* Review, approve, and generate purchase orders for materials, services, and supplies* Confirm delivery of materials from domestic and international suppliers* Perform job duties in accordance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including OSHA and EPA* Follow all aspects of the site Environmental Policy as it pertains to normal job duties* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to monitor and negotiate pricing for goods and services* Communicate product quality expectations and on-time delivery goals to suppliers* Analyze data to present to management a complete framework for decision-making* Participate in cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in purchasing and materials management* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures* Lead the Purchasing Department and provide guidance and support to team members* Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness* Monitor and report on department performance and make recommendations for improvement* Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives* Represent the company in external meetings and presentations* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and customers* Manage budget and resources to ensure effective use of funds* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies* Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge* Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members* Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration and teamwork
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and/or ten years related working experience in the purchasing or materials management function within a manufacturing environment* Must be fluent in written and spoken English* Proficient in Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint* Ability to assimilate and analyze data to present to management a complete framework for decision-making* Strong leadership and communication skills* Experience in managing budgets and resources* Experience in leading cross-functional teams* Experience in negotiating contracts and agreements* Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in purchasing and materials management* Ability to stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and company policies* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision* Strong interpersonal and communication skills* Ability to travel as needed*
