BetterUp is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Scientist to join our team and help us harness the full potential of our platform. As a key member of our analytics function, you will play a critical role in aligning our transformational capabilities with our customers' strategic goals.

As a data-driven change agent, you will design and execute applied research studies to quantify the tangible business value we create for our customers. Your expertise in advanced statistical modeling, data visualization, and communication will enable you to present complex findings in a clear and actionable way to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with customers and internal account teams to secure, clean, analyze, and present data demonstrating BetterUp's impact and value
  • Design and execute applied research studies using historical data to identify comparison groups, select relevant metrics, and align measurement time points for accurate analysis
  • Apply advanced statistical modeling to understand how coaching drives impact and creates value
  • Produce client-ready deliverables and present findings back to customers in a simple and easy-to-understand way
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate key findings from Value Management into product strategy
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional analytics experience using SQL, advanced Sheets/Excel, Business Intelligence visualization/dashboarding, and coding/programming
  • Interest and domain knowledge of organizational psychology, development, and/or change
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills applying statistical and predictive modeling concepts and classification techniques
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate complex results into clear strategic recommendations to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
