About the Role:

Airbus Robotics is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Architect to join our Engineering team based in Mukilteo, WA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and architecting complex software systems in support of automated aircraft manufacturing systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Make high-level decisions regarding the design and architecture of complex software systems, ensuring technical solutions align with system goals and constraints.
  • Set the technical direction for complex software projects, laying the foundational blueprint for development teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into system design.
  • Lead the architectural aspects of software development and provide guidance to development teams.
  • Develop high-level software in a mixed computing environment, focusing on embedded Linux supervisory software, security and access control, and data management.

Requirements:

  • Master of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 11-17 years of experience in conjunction with a master's degree, or combination of PhD and experience.
  • Five or more years of experience crafting high-level design choices and frameworks.
  • Experience preparing software schedules and budgets.
  • Interpersonal skills and knowledge to work within an engineering development team.
