About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dental Hygienist to join our team at Grande Smiles. As a key member of our dental team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of oral health for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Record treatment information on patient charts, including treatment rendered, planned treatment, and chair time.
  • Take radiographs as directed by the dentist.
  • Record evaluation of periodontal conditions, occlusal relations, and extent of prophylaxis on dental charts.
  • Provide customer service support to patients, including escorting them to and from treatment rooms.
  • Administer Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen to patients as applicable.
  • Take impressions for diagnostic and opposing models.
  • Apply non-aerosol and non-caustic topical agents and pit and fissure sealants.
  • Remove excess cement from supragingival surfaces of teeth.
  • Assist the doctor during clinical exams and record findings and recommendations.
  • Perform oral cancer exams on all patients.
  • Scale, polish, and apply fluoride to patient teeth.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, including setup, decontamination, sterilization, and sharpening of instruments.
  • Place and remove post-extraction and periodontal dressings/sutures.
  • Inspect patient oral cavities and chart lesions, existing restorations, and missing teeth.
  • Evaluate gingival health and oral tissue health.
  • Execute root planing and Myofunctional evaluations.
  • Educate patients on preventative care, disease process, and role of bacteria.
  • Polish restorations and appliances.
  • Administer temporary cementation and removal of temporary crowns.
  • Schedule patient appointments and communicate with staff to ensure timely scheduling.
  • Implement and monitor recall systems and contact patients overdue for recalls.
  • Help fill patient schedules to maintain high production levels.
Requirements
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations.
  • Skilled in ultrasonic use.
  • Ability to perform scaling, root planning, radiographs, and local anesthetic administration.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and changes.
  • Knowledge of English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Skilled in standard office equipment use, including telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and software.
  • Ability to engender trust from doctors, coworkers, and patients.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks independently.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate and express thoughts and ideas competently.
  • Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities.
