Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals with complex mental health, behavioral, and medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly complex vocational nursing work, including administering medications and treatments, and performing health screenings.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory examination and conduct appropriate screening tests.
  • Monitor individuals' health status after medication administration, treatments, and procedures.
  • Document and report pertinent treatments and observations in the individual's medical record.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, family members, and staff members to ensure seamless care and support.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of Texas.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a mental health or behavioral health setting.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and emergency equipment, including CPR.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
