Job Overview

The Marine Yard Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity of our boat yard. This position involves a variety of tasks related to the care and management of boats, ensuring a safe and organized environment for all activities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines consistently.
  • Assist in the secure and efficient relocation of boats within the dealership premises, including launching and docking procedures.
  • Contribute to the arrangement and presentation of boats on display.
  • Spring Preparation: remove shrink wrap, clean, wax, detail, and perform bottom painting.
  • Fall Preparation: apply shrink wrap, scrape bottoms, clean, and power wash.
  • Receive and inspect newly delivered boats, trailers, and motors.
  • Support the management of yard storage solutions, including stands and covers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, workshop, parts storage, and dealership areas.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating maintenance for yard equipment, such as trucks and forklifts.
  • Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Prior experience in a marine environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate a collaborative spirit.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Forklift operation experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Capability to work at heights, in various weather conditions, and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
  • Demonstrate respect and dignity towards colleagues.
  • Follow established policies while seeking improvements in work processes.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and a focus on efficiency.
