Eating Disorder Therapist Job Description

This role involves providing evidence-based therapeutic treatment to patients with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Responsibilities include:

  • Able to identify and treat various eating disorder diagnoses and mental health co-morbidities.
  • Follows professional code of conduct and provides individualized, patient-centric care.
  • Works effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team with strong communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in a licensed mental health field, such as CMHC, LCSW, CSW, LPC, LMFT, or MFT, and preference will be given to those with a CACREP-accredited degree. Experience working with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions is highly valued, as is proficiency in evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, family-based therapy, emotion-focused therapy, or other forms of psychotherapy.
