Job Summary

The Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and attentive Server to join our team. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members and their guests in our dining establishment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that our members receive the highest standard of service while visiting our dining establishment(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Take food and beverage orders, carry trays, and serve food and drinks.
  • Clear and clean tables.
  • Perform light food preparation and have familiarity with basic cooking terminology and skills.
  • Prepare takeout orders and wrap menu items.
  • Set up and prep work for opening stations.
  • Provide attention to members and their guests as soon as possible after being seated.
  • Distribute menus and wine lists, and have knowledge of food and wine pairing.
  • Pour and refill wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served with and after the meal.
  • Clean all assigned work areas in the front and back of the house.
  • Advise supervisors of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Assist in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, and silverware.
  • Ensure that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Consistently follow sanitation-related requirements, including those related to personal hygiene.
  • Place orders with the kitchen and inform cooks about any special cooking instructions.
  • Enter orders in the point-of-sale system and present the bill.
  • Perform clean-up and closing duties.
  • Assist with special events as needed.
  • Assist in training other food and beverage staff as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings, including pre-serve sessions and in-service training.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and comply with uniform and dress codes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by a manager.
Requirements
  • Must be able to reach, push, pull, bend, and stoop.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion activities, including walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to comfortably lift and carry trays weighing up to 30 pounds and stand on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to speak and hear clearly in English.
  • Close and distance vision.
  • Identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent walking with some standing at times.
  • Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs; occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Meet the minimum age requirements for this position.
  • Three to six months of customer service-related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Within 90 days of hire, must obtain and maintain current certification(s) in ANSI Florida Food Handler and Florida Responsible Vendor Server Training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of work experience in a full-service restaurant or hospitality-related industry.
  • Experience in a fine dining/upscale restaurant atmosphere.
