Job Summary:

As a CDL Class A Delivery Driver with Performance Food Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to our customers. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally to ensure accurate and timely responses to questions and concerns.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required, and follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required, and load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.
  • Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured, and unload damaged goods and customer returns and bring to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.

Requirements:

* CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
