The Trauma/Surgical ICU (TSICU) is a specialized 28-bed critical care unit focused on the treatment of patients with traumatic injuries or those undergoing intricate surgeries that necessitate close observation and care.
Typical patients in this unit include those suffering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, rib fractures, and lung injuries, along with various orthopedic injuries that require constant monitoring and attention.
Many individuals treated in the TSICU are poly-trauma cases, involving multiple body systems. Common surgical patients include those undergoing Whipple procedures, esophagectomies, gastrostomies, and abdominal aortic aneurysms.The unit is staffed by registered nurses, critical care technicians, trauma surgery nurse practitioners, resident physicians, and attending trauma surgeons.
Our staff collaborates closely with respiratory therapists and specialized surgical teams, including orthopedics and neurosurgery. Nurses and critical care technicians in this unit receive specialized training tailored to the care of trauma patients.Short Description:
The Registered Nurse serves as a professional caregiver, taking responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients during a specified time frame as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

2. Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders and supervisors.
3. Provide exceptional customer service, effectively interacting with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.

Experience Required:
Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse in an inpatient environment.
Education Requirements:
Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
License/Certification Requirements:
Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers)
Some specialties may necessitate advanced certification (i.e., ACLS, NALS, PALS)
Special Requirements:
Hours: 7 pm - 7 am, including weekends and holidays are required.
