Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a Truck Driver, you will play a critical role in delivering food and food-related products to our customers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally to ensure questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer, and report any safety issues or repairs required.
  • Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight, and perform count checks of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily records of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
