Job Overview

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the most trusted driver. Since its inception, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver, a highly advanced software that improves access to mobility while saving thousands of lives lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo One, a fully autonomous ride-hailing service, and can also be applied to various vehicle platforms and product use cases. Our team builds the brains of the Waymo Driver, enabling it to perceive the world around it, make informed decisions, and deliver people safely to their destinations.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with Perception and Behavior engineers to launch features that directly improve the driving behavior in highly dynamic environments. You will apply your expertise in machine learning to integrate and validate large ML models in real-time production systems. Your contributions will have a significant impact on the development of the Waymo Driver.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must be currently pursuing a master's degree in computer science or a related technical field. You should have experience with C++ and Python, as well as a strong understanding of data structures. We prefer candidates with experience applying machine learning to solve computer vision, motion planning, or related robotics problems.
