- Supervise and direct nursing assistants, ensuring that they provide high-quality care and follow established policies and procedures.
- Conduct resident rounds, identify potential problems, and take corrective action as necessary.
- Prepare and assign nursing assistant assignments and duties, ensuring that all direct resident care is supervised and documented.
- Perform data collection, develop comprehensive care plans, and participate in resident care conferences.
- Counsel nursing assistants, recommend disciplinary action when necessary, and participate in the employee evaluation process.
- Other clinical duties, including checking emergency equipment, identifying safety hazards, and notifying physicians of changes in patient conditions.
- Graduated from an approved Practical Nurses Education Program.
- At least one year of work experience in rehabilitative, psychiatric, or geriatric nursing preferred.
- Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in the State of Connecticut.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
