Job Description

As a Tank Cleaner/Hydroblasting technician at A2Z Staffing, you will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning tanks using specialized equipment and techniques. With core skills in industrial cleaning, safety procedures, and equipment operation, you will ensure the efficient and thorough cleaning of tanks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform tank cleaning, hydro-blasting, and mechanical work, including in-place retubing, turn-key work on Fin Fans and Heat Exchangers, and specialized hydroblasting projects.
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects.
  • Operate light and heavy equipment, including work trucks, diesel powered hydroblasters, fork lifts, man-lifts, air compressors, pressure washers, and light towers.
  • Handle various hand tools and powered industrial tools, including rivet busters, chipping guns, air drills, and rolling guns.
  • Ensure proper use of equipment and immediately notify supervisor of any mechanical failure or problem of equipment.
  • Wear and properly use personal protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection.
  • Work in various temperatures, indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, while wearing various levels of personal protective equipment.
  • Work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive.
  • Work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearance, and working at elevations, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent recommended.
  • 1 year+ industry related experience.
  • Active DOT MedCard and Physical.
  • No serious moving violations in past 3 years.
  • Clean driving record: No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years; No DUI/DWI in past 3 years; No preventable accidents in the past year; No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
  • Valid driver's license required as a continuing condition of employment.
  • Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug screen. Some positions also require a pre-hire medical exam. Must meet all work eligibility requirements.

Physical Demands:

  • Position involves strenuous physical exertion.
  • Requires standing, lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Requires pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching in confined spaces.
  • Requires walking, climbing, speaking, listening, color determination, and clarity of vision at 2 feet or more.
  • Requires the ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment.
  • Able to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus objects.
  • Periodic travel may be required – in and out of town for extended periods.
