Position Summary:
The Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician operates specialized equipment to identify brain irregularities, working under the guidance of a physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients to determine the most suitable approach for EKG procedures.
- Screen for contraindications related to EKG components, including hyperventilation and photic stimulation.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the scientific and mathematical principles that underpin EKG technology.
- Execute the procedure for recording EKG results.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Completion of an accredited AMA training program or equivalent on-the-job training with proper documentation.
- Certifications: Current BLS/CPR training is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in an EEG environment, working with adults, children, and newborns.
- Familiarity with Epic software is advantageous.
