About the Role

We are seeking an Early Career Mining Engineer to join our team at WSP in the U.S. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to contribute to our Mining Engineering Earth & Environment Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a Safety First focus and conduct a full range of mine engineering functions.
  • Perform strategic modeling, design, and engineering analyses duties, including interactive mine design and sequencing utilizing various mine modeling software packages.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and technical staff to develop the skills and procedures needed to effectively deliver engineering and consulting assignments.
  • Continually apply a high standard of ethical behavior to promote and support WSP's Core Values and Culture.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks and exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering or related degree.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally and to remote project locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Mine Engineering or closely related degree.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Registered, or have the ability to register, as a Professional Engineer in the USA, depending on office location.
  • Fluent in English with fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Portuguese) considered an asset.
