Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our ambulatory care team at Cambridge Health Alliance. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide patient-centered care to a diverse population with OB and GYN needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient-centered histories and obtain initial physical data, including vital signs and weight.
  • Incorporate available data and nursing knowledge to identify patient care needs.
  • Utilize evidence-based ambulatory care nursing interventions during clinical visits, telephone encounters, and electronic communications.
  • Administer medications and immunizations according to hospital policy and procedure.
  • Collect specimens and perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Oversee daily quality checks of lab equipment and stock supplies.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot temperature tracking systems.
  • Provide age-appropriate care in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Document patient information according to CHA and professional standards.
  • Delegate interventions to the ambulatory care team based on competency and state practice acts.
  • Adhere to position descriptions, policies, and protocols related to nursing professional practice.
  • Employ strategies that promote patient health and wellness.
  • Contribute to data collection that monitors ambulatory care nursing and organizational performance.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a supportive and high-performance environment.
  • Oversee the practice of non-professional nursing staff.
  • Direct the flow of patients and staff to ensure smooth and effective practice.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited licensed practical school of nursing.
  • MA LPN licensure required.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Knowledge of a second language preferred.
