Job Title: Registered Nurse, Operating Room Inpatient Surgery

About the Role:

The Menino Operating Room Department at Boston Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in the Perioperative Services unit, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing inpatient surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and educate patients in the Perioperative Services unit
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • 1+ years of RN experience preferred
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Fluency in another language a plus
