Position Overview:
The Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean and safe environment for patient care by maintaining designated areas in a hygienic, orderly, and secure manner. This position involves advising supervisors on the requirements for environmental services equipment and repairs, as well as ensuring that waste disposal services are executed as scheduled.
Compensation: Pay range: $16-17
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute cleaning and custodial tasks to uphold the sanitation and cleanliness of the facility.
- Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing fixtures.
- Maintain cleanliness in facility rooms, bathrooms, laboratories, offices, and hallways.
- Utilize cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners as necessary.
- Prepare patient areas by washing bed frames, brushing mattresses, and remaking beds post-discharge.
- Ensure utility and storage rooms are organized and tidy.
- Operate commercial laundry machines to clean soiled linens as directed.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and manage the transportation of soiled linens.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of floors, ensuring safety measures are in place to prevent slips and falls.
- Dust and clean furniture, carpets, and draperies.
- Wash walls, ceilings, and windows to maintain facility appearance.
- Manage waste disposal by emptying wastebaskets and transporting trash to designated areas.
- Disinfect rooms and equipment using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and linen stock to ensure adequate levels.
- Properly store and maintain all cleaning equipment after each shift.
- Follow safety guidelines and standard precautions in all cleaning tasks.
- Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange furniture for facility events.
