Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced Thermal Systems Engineering Manager to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Permanence business unit, you'll be responsible for leading the development and management of thermal control systems for our spacecraft.
Responsibilities- Recruit, hire, and onboard a diverse team of Thermal Systems Engineers
- Manage the professional development of direct reports, including coaching, performance reviews, and promotion management
- Lead the development and management of thermal interfaces, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and models
- Standardize Thermal Systems Engineering approaches across Lunar missions
- Own the verification and validation of Thermal requirements, in collaboration with Thermal test engineers
- Utilize Systems Engineering tools such as Jama, Windchill, and Cameo
- Support and present at major gated reviews, including design reviews and readiness reviews
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or similar
- Experience in the generation of requirements, decomposition, and analysis
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- M.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 2+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for leading and mentoring employees
- 8+ years of experience in thermal analysis for spacecraft systems
- Experience solving a variety of spacecraft engineering challenges
- Familiar with agile project management
This is a full-time position based in Seattle, WA, with opportunities to work remotely. We offer a competitive salary range of $136,620.00-$191,268.00, depending on location. We're an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
