We're looking for a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Alsana. As an LVN, you'll play a critical role in providing direct nursing care to our clients, including medication administration, phlebotomy, and documenting assessments in the EMR. You'll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, with a competitive estimated salary of $75,000 - $95,000 per year. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. We also offer flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular physical and mental status assessments, documenting findings accurately.
  • Complete health questionnaires and document results in the medical record.
  • Administer medications, monitoring side effects and client responses.
  • Maintain accurate records of weight and vital signs in the EMR, rechecking unusual values and documenting accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy for medication deliveries and address questions regarding medications.
  • Monitor clients' nutritional and dietary needs, reporting non-compliance with the plan of care.
  • Organize and follow up on consultations with physicians and medical personnel for tests and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Complete all Alsana Nursing Assessments, Care-plans, S.O.A.P Notes, Admission Note, Discharge Notes, and Noc Shift note, ensuring accurate documentation in the medical record.
  • Administer first aid according to facility policy, including follow-up documentation.
  • Ensure timely precertification of medications and other coverage through insurance updates.
  • Maintain open communication with clients, families, and staff, participating in shift-to-shift hand-off communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • IV certification within 30 days of start date.
  • Valid license as a Vocational Nurse.
  • 1+ years of hospital-based clinical experience preferred.
  • Current CPR Certification through the American Heart Association, preferably.
  • 1+ years of clinical experience in a mental health or residential facility, preferred.
