Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse - Specialty, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician to provide high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Performing basic nursing care to patients, following established standards and procedures.
  2. Collecting patient data, such as vital signs, and reporting any changes or concerns.
  3. Preparing and administering injections, performing routine tests, and treating wounds and changing bandages.
  4. Preparing patient records and files using established medical record forms and documentation practices.
  5. Administering prescribed medications and monitoring treatment progress and patient response.
  6. Participating in the implementation and evaluation of patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of practical nursing program.
  • A current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse license from the state licensing board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Additional specialty certifications, if applicable.
Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.
  • 0-1 year of experience in a specialty clinic setting, preferred.
Skills and Abilities

You will need to possess:

  • Knowledge of basic nursing processes and understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies.
  • Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with staff and patients.
  • Sound judgment and composure in emergency situations.
  • A positive, caring attitude towards patients.
