ResponsibilitiesAs a Licensed Practical Nurse - Specialty, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician to provide high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing basic nursing care to patients, following established standards and procedures.
- Collecting patient data, such as vital signs, and reporting any changes or concerns.
- Preparing and administering injections, performing routine tests, and treating wounds and changing bandages.
- Preparing patient records and files using established medical record forms and documentation practices.
- Administering prescribed medications and monitoring treatment progress and patient response.
- Participating in the implementation and evaluation of patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A graduate degree from an accredited school of practical nursing program.
- A current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse license from the state licensing board.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Additional specialty certifications, if applicable.
We are looking for candidates with:
- At least 1 year of experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.
- 0-1 year of experience in a specialty clinic setting, preferred.
You will need to possess:
- Knowledge of basic nursing processes and understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies.
- Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with staff and patients.
- Sound judgment and composure in emergency situations.
- A positive, caring attitude towards patients.
