Purpose and Scope

The Equus Workforce Solutions team is seeking a highly skilled Azure Network Engineer to join our operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based network solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud-based network solutions on Azure, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment and maintenance of network components.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate Azure networking services, including Virtual Network, VPN Gateway, and ExpressRoute.
  • Enhance network performance, ensure resilience, and maintain security through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Drive network automation initiatives to achieve continuous service delivery and improvements.
  • Implement network observability and monitoring tools to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform and Azure Resource Manager templates, to automate network provisioning.
  • Maintain network configurations as code for consistency and repeatability.
  • Perform problem isolation and resolution for network-related issues.
  • Setup and install, and maintain network infrastructure, including configuring and maintaining devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Perform routine network maintenance, including troubleshooting and installing upgrades, service packs, and security configurations on Meraki firewalls and switches.
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trends, and capacity planning.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in coordination with the security team.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in supporting network infrastructure in a mid to large organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, as well as relevant work experience in Networking, IT operations, or infrastructure management.
  • Azure Certification in networking preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate.
Preferred Experience and Competencies
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and Azure networking, having worked extensively in this environment.
  • Proficiency in Azure networking services, including Azure Virtual Network, Azure Firewall, and Azure Load Balancer.
  • Familiarity with Azure ExpressRoute and VPN Gateway configurations.
  • Knowledge of Azure security features, including Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, and Azure DDoS Protection.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or other relevant languages.
