Occupational Therapist Assistant

About the JobWe are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist Aide to join our team. As an essential member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in helping our residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible within their physical abilities.
The purpose of this position is to provide treatment and document care for residents with impaired ability to perform at an independent level due to disease process under the supervision of an occupational therapist. You will participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as required and work collaboratively with residents, family members, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow physicians' orders for resident care and follow directions of the occupational therapist.
- Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible within the confines of their physical abilities.
- Provide adaptive equipment and preventative measures to prevent decline in residents' function.
- Maintain timely and accurate resident reports as required by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and third-party payers.
- Observe infection control procedures and be responsible for the safety of residents under your supervision.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common medical information.
- Ability to effectively communicate with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
