We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) CVICU PRN to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
Key Responsibilities- Plan and prioritize age and specialty appropriate care of each patient assigned by communicating relevant information to appropriate healthcare professionals
- Competently and accurately complete age appropriate comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessment of patients; takes nursing history assessment to identify nursing diagnosis/patient care needs
- Evaluate the patient/family response to, and outcome(s) of, implemented care and modifies the plan of care accordingly
- Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual CVICU patients
- Promote, initiate or coordinate interdisciplinary care provision in an open communication system with patients, nursing personnel, physicians, clergy, and with all other persons who influence patient progress
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- 1 year of RN ICU experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Knowledge of ECMO, balloon pumps & continual dialysis preferred
- BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
