Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Millwright to join our team at Tyler Union in Anniston, AL. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, dismantling, and moving machinery and heavy equipment on our weekend shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Align and position machinery and equipment using hoists, jacks, and measuring instruments.
  • Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Lay out mounting holes and drill holes with precision.
  • Signal crane operators to lower basic assembly units and align them to centerline.
  • Replace defective parts and adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  • Level bedplates and establish centerlines using straightedges, levels, and transits.
  • Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, and other hand tools.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a technical field or training in a vocational school preferred.
  • Three to five years of related on-the-job experience required.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and machinery.
