Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team at MyCareersFuture. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cloud-based frameworks and architectures that enable faster implementation of OpenShift Kubernetes-based applications.
  • Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) involving new data technologies, container platforms, sidecars, and daemonsets.
  • Develop application frameworks for container integration and create technical documents such as solution design and program specifications.
  • Perform design and development of applications, including software applications, data integration, user interfaces, and automation.
  • Maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure platform-centric management of software applications.
  • Perform performance tuning and work with production support team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues and review new and existing code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional development teams using agile methodologies and project management software.
  • Install, customize, and integrate software packages, programs, and product releases.

Functional Skillsets

Hands-on experience in implementing large-scale data warehouse and analytics platforms in the financial services industry, with a good functional knowledge of products and services offered in retail banking, wholesale, and global markets, covering analytics domains such as:

  • Deploying stateless and stateful workloads on OpenShift Kubernetes-based platforms.
  • Developing microservices applications using Node.js, React, Java, RabbitMQ, Akka framework, Apache Consul, Apache Geode, and Redis.
  • Developing frameworks using Spark, Scala, Java, and Python.
  • Working with in-memory applications.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems.
  • Container deployment management using Helm Package Manager or Kustomize.
  • Integrating container applications with external security vaults such as CyberArk Conjur and AAM.
  • Deployment automation of container applications using Jenkins, JFrog, Gradle, Bitbucket, and Groovy.
  • Implementing appropriate security of data (SSL, encryption).
  • Load balancing and replication, scheduling.
  • Good knowledge of Custom Resources, Docker, Taints & Tolerances, Node Affinity, and ConfigMaps.
  • Experience in Shell scripting and Control-M.
  • Expertise in designing role-based fine-grained access control.
  • Supporting application failures, planning for resiliency, and backup.

Technical Skillsets

Cloud Engineer

  • Platforms provided by IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D).
  • Kubernetes-based platforms such as OpenShift, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Software-defined storage (ODF).
  • IBM Storage Fusion.
  • S3-compatible storage options (Dell ECS, HCP).
  • Node.js, React, Java, RabbitMQ, Akka framework, Apache Consul, Apache Geode, and Redis.
  • Scala, Java, and Python.

Education

Bachelor's degree or University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
