Safeway is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team. As a Meat Cutter at Safeway, you will be responsible for preparing meat for sale by cutting, trimming, chopping, grinding, and otherwise processing meats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meat in salable sizes and condition for wrapping and eventual display and sale to customers.
  • Cut, trim, chop, grind, and otherwise prepare meats and place on trays.
  • Operate saws, grinders, and other meat processing machinery.
  • Inspect, sort, and grade meat products.
  • Inspect displayed products for expired dates and remove when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a cash register.
