Job Overview

Larson Design Group is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a technical leader. This role will coordinate overall design activities, project submission schedules, and be responsible for additional Quality Assurance and Quality Control duties to ensure the final products meet technical requirements and client goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent planning and design tasks, review work of others, prepare construction documents, and deliver projects to completion.
  • Have experience with technically complex projects.
  • Possess knowledge of codes and standards applicable to design of projects.
  • Maintain collaborative inter-departmental and cross-functional working relationships with project team members.
  • Perform initial QA/QC review of project submissions.
  • Assist senior management in development of schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.
  • Work closely with project teams to effectively describe and deliver scope of work.
  • Promote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions.
  • Perform and check design calculations, technical specifications, and prepare cost estimates.
  • Develop and maintain design budgets for routine scopes of work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in relevant Engineering field from ABET-accredited school, or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the design and development process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have thorough knowledge of A/E/S industry and ability to quickly review, understand, and resolve complex design and construction-related issues.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD.
  • Must have a strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Possess strong oral & written communication skills, and have strong organizational & time management skills.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a project team.
