Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Neurosurgery Physician Assistant to join our dynamic surgical team. This role offers a unique chance to thrive in a fast-paced, stimulating, and fulfilling environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in surgical procedures, particularly in spine and cranial surgeries, bringing a high level of skill and expertise.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, ensuring all pertinent information is collected and documented.
  • Draft pre-operative and post-operative directives for surgeons, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Uphold board certification and stay informed about the latest advancements in the field.
  • Fulfill annual continuing medical education requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with attending physicians, promoting a team-oriented approach to patient care.
  • Work in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team, including attending physicians and other physician assistants, to ensure a cohesive working environment.


Qualifications:
  • Valid Physician Assistant license in New Jersey is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Proven experience in assisting during surgical procedures, particularly in spine and cranial cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations.
  • Experience in drafting pre-operative and post-operative directives for surgeons.
  • Strong knowledge of pain management techniques.
  • Proven ability to prescribe medications in compliance with state regulations.
  • Must maintain board certification.
  • Must meet annual continuing medical education requirements.
  • Excellent teamwork abilities, with a track record of effective collaboration with attending physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
