Position Overview
This role is centered on guaranteeing that our members receive the highest level of service while enjoying our dining facilities. The main responsibility involves providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service to members and their guests within designated sections. Previous experience in a serving role, strong interpersonal abilities, the capacity to perform well under pressure, and a basic understanding of culinary terminology are essential qualifications. Servers must exhibit professionalism, attention to detail, and courtesy; they should be capable of managing moderate physical activity and be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process food and beverage orders, transport trays, and serve meals and drinks. Maintain cleanliness by clearing and sanitizing tables.
- Assist with light food preparation and possess familiarity with basic culinary terms and techniques.
- Prepare takeout orders and ensure proper packaging of menu items.
- Conduct opening setup and preparation tasks for the service area.
- Provide prompt attention to members and their guests immediately after seating.
- Distribute menus and wine lists, demonstrating knowledge of food and wine pairings.
- Pour and replenish beverages, including wine, coffee, and water, during and after meals.
- Maintain cleanliness in all assigned work areas, both front and back of house.
- Report any member or guest complaints to a supervisor promptly.
- Assist with closing duties, including removing linens and clearing dishes, glasses, and utensils.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations and club policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
- Adhere to sanitation standards, including personal hygiene practices.
- Communicate special cooking instructions to kitchen staff and place orders as needed.
- Input orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system and present bills to guests.
- Perform cleaning and closing tasks as required.
- Support special events as necessary.
- Participate in training of other food and beverage staff as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions regularly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform and dress standards.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to reach, push, pull, bend, and stoop; perform repetitive motions such as walking, standing, kneeling, and crouching; possess excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Capable of lifting and carrying trays weighing up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
- Ability to see clearly at both close and distant ranges.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent walking, with some standing required; ability to walk for extended distances.
- Regularly lift/carry up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Consistent use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills, with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
- Must meet the minimum age requirement for this position; the legal age to serve alcohol in the state is 18 years.
- Three to six months of customer service experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must obtain and maintain current certifications in: ANSI Florida Food Handler and Florida Responsible Vendor Server Training within 90 days of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a full-service restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting.
