Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to join our WIC department in Vancouver, WA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing nutrition counseling, high-risk counseling, and assisting with the WIC certification process. This is a full-time position that requires travel to various WIC sites across the Clark County region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nutrition counseling and high-risk counseling to clients, including medical, MSS, and patient nutritional assessment.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with team members and other Sea Mar staff, serving as a liaison between Nutrition and/or WIC and other clinic and community services.
- Facilitate appointment scheduling and follow-up on failed appointments according to protocol, coordinate services with other health professionals, and cooperate with other departments.
- Compare information collected to program criteria to accurately determine WIC eligibility and nutrition risk factors.
- Determine appropriate food packages, explain nutrient content of WIC foods, identify contracted food vendors, issue manual or computerized food vouchers, and document check issuance.
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in nutrition from an accredited university.
- Completed an accredited dietetic internship program or Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Dietetics.
- 7 hours of HIV/AIDS course.
- WA State Registration and Certification for Dietitian or RD/CD eligible with attainment of these credentials within time period stated in the Sea Mar Nutrition Program Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Medical Assistant-Registered Certification required for Hemoglobin testing for WIC RD.
- The experience should reveal demonstrated interest in nutrition services and nutrition education.
- Experience in community nutrition setting with an interest in basic nutrition and childhood development is desirable.
- Pre-hire and annual employee health screening required.
- Annual influenza vaccine required.
- Experience in a community nutrition setting with an interest in weight management, diabetes education, and pediatric nutrition is desired.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in outpatient or similar nutrition setting is highly preferred.
- Experience with long-term care programs.
- Current Adult/Pediatric CPR certification.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
