Job Summary: Lancaster General Health is seeking a skilled Practice Nurse to join our team at Roseville Pediatrics. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing primary care to children from birth through age 18+. You will work closely with our providers and other members of the clinical support team to deliver high-quality patient care through our patient-centered model.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for visits by utilizing our LGHP rooming standards tool.
  • Review and prepare patient prescription refills requests.
  • Administer injections and medications as prescribed by the provider and in accordance with department protocol, regulatory requirements, and standards of practice.
  • Provide ongoing patient education, including preventive care, chronic care management, medication usage, acute diagnosis treatment, and follow-up.
  • Prepare and assist providers with various office-based procedures and treatments.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing and vision, Spot Vision Screenings, Rapid Cepheid Influenza, RSV, and COVID tests, Rapid Cepheid Strep test, Urinalysis, Hgb, and Lead Screens.
  • Assist with tracking and monitoring patient-administered tests and patient overdue laboratory orders.
  • Assess wounds and initiate the removal of sutures/staples as needed.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Maintain and clean medical instruments and equipment after each procedure and as needed.
  • Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives to assist with ongoing improvement efforts for overall positive patient experience and quality of care.
  • Positively influence patient experience via patient advocacy and personalized interactions with patients, their families, office visitors, and colleagues.
  • Handle all patient information in a confidential manner according to Lancaster General Health privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Provide sound clinical advice via phone and/or electronic correspondence based on our triage protocols and their nursing judgment in accordance with regulatory requirements and standards of practice.
