Job Overview

The Medical Center Supervisor will be responsible for the successful management and operation of medical practices, including all specialty disciplines and clinic sites. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to provide resources necessary for medical specialists to meet patient needs and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Direct supervision of all personnel and ensure adequate staffing levels
  2. Implement work schedules and staffing patterns, promoting teamwork and training personnel on center policies and procedures
  3. Evaluate employee performance and make recommendations to the administrator
  4. Counsel and discipline employees as necessary, monitor productivity levels
  5. Develop and update policy and procedure manuals, process daily cash reconciliation and deposits, and ensure petty cash is accounted for
  6. Collect and submit monthly statistical reports to Upper Management for all center services and departments
  7. Develop progressive departmental goals and measures to ensure timely effective results
  8. Procure supplies, equipment, and modifications necessary for practical economical operations
  9. Comply with on-call rotation
  10. Analyze and develop productivity of departments
  11. Analyze data related to physician productivity and member services
  12. Work closely with the Marketing Department to develop strategies to increase and retain membership
  13. Handle member complaints
  14. Ensure timely referrals
  15. Maintain updated documentation of licenses and in-services to comply with regulatory procedures
  16. Maintain open communication with the Assistant Administrator on daily operational issues
  17. Comply with on-call rotation
  18. Schedule supervision and staff meetings
  19. Ensure customer satisfaction with all members
  20. Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for performance management and hiring of employees within that department.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment, and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force, and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions.

The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Minimum 2-3 years supervisory experience
  2. Computer knowledge required (Word, Excel, Internet)
  3. Customer Service skills and training
  4. HIPAA testing required
  5. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  6. Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including related work experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. BA/BS Degree
  2. Previous experience in healthcare
  3. Relevant or any other job-related vocational coursework
