Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Busser to join our team at El Encanto Restaurants. As a Busser, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and efficiency of our dining area.


Key Responsibilities
  • Clear tables after guests depart, removing all items and setting salsa racks on their sides.
  • Clean and sanitize tabletops, chairs, and salsa racks using a sanitized cloth.
  • Fold and replace blankets as needed, push in chairs, and clean the floor under and around tables.
  • Reset tables with the appropriate number of roll-ups and water glasses.
  • Locate items requested by guests and communicate with servers about guest requests.
  • Take soiled flatware, linen, ramekins, glassware, barware, and dishes to the designated dish area and scrape and stack dirty dishes accordingly.
  • Perform cleaning or stocking duties to facilitate customer service.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Rinse towels in sanitizer and change out towels with fresh ones when dirty.
  • Promptly greet guests with water, chips, and salsa, describing the salsas.
  • Thank guests as they leave.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.
  • Keep chip drawers full and clean, communicating with management if stock goes to three bins.
  • Communicate with servers and hosts to expedite efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate with servers as needed.
  • Inspect assigned restrooms every 30 minutes, cleaning and stocking as needed.
  • Empty trash cans as needed into dumpsters.
  • Clean trash receptacles as needed.
  • Carry soiled linens to loading dock bins and replace with clean linen bags as needed.
  • Assist dishwashers if backed up.
  • Teamwork is essential; fill in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
  • Maintain all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Follow all side work checklists.
  • Check out with management prior to clocking out.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.

Requirements
  • Clean and neat appearance.

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Aloha and/or similar POS systems.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Speaking and writing skills.
  • Time management skills.
