Job Summary

The Dayton VA is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting diagnostic and surgical procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat eye disorders using the most appropriate techniques and technologies.
  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients with ocular and visual disorders.
  • Perform surgical and nonsurgical procedures on patients of all ages, including the eyelid and orbit affecting the eye and the visual pathways.
  • Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy.
  • Timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center.
  • Maintain full clinical privileges as a member of the Medical Staff.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be eligible for citizenship.
  • Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Must have completed a residency program in ophthalmology and be board certified or eligible.
  • Must have a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in ophthalmology, particularly in retina care.
  • Board certification in ophthalmology.
  • Experience with surgical and nonsurgical procedures.
