Secondary Education Mathematics Instructor

Job Summary:

The Alabama Department of Education is seeking a highly qualified Math Teacher Secondary to join our team. As a Math Teacher Secondary, you will be responsible for teaching mathematics to students in grades 6-12.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Determine individual and class needs.
2. Establish objectives and plans learning experiences.
3. Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives.
4. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
5. Exhibit positive human relations skills.
6. Evaluate the educational program and/or student progress.
7. Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
8. Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication.
9. Maintain and submit records and reports.
10. Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
11. Engage in personal and professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
12. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate endorsed in the relevant subject area.
• Must complete a criminal background check through the Alabama State Department of Education at your own expense.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
