Job Summary:
The Alabama Department of Education is seeking a highly qualified Math Teacher Secondary to join our team. As a Math Teacher Secondary, you will be responsible for teaching mathematics to students in grades 6-12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine individual and class needs.
- Establish objectives and plans learning experiences.
- Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Exhibit positive human relations skills.
- Evaluate the educational program and/or student progress.
- Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
- Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Maintain and submit records and reports.
- Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
- Engage in personal and professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate endorsed in the relevant subject area.
- Must complete a criminal background check through the Alabama State Department of Education at your own expense.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
