Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Crate Assembler to join our team at Janus International Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and packing wood crates to ship orders of metal overhead steel doors and door components.

Responsibilities
  • Verify Shipping Requirements: Verify dimensions needed for shipping crates using shipping reports to ensure accurate packaging.
  • Operate Woodworking Machines: Set up, operate, and adjust various woodworking machines, such as skill saws and radial arm saws, to cut and shape wood sections according to specifications.
  • Assemble and Pack Crates: Fit, fasten, and assemble wood parts together to form crates using air-powered nail guns, and pack crates with metal parts for steel doors listed to be shipped to customers.
  • Pack Insulation and Label Crates: Pack crates with insulation to prevent steel parts from moving during shipping and fasten address/shipping labels to crates.
  • Maintain a Clean Work Area: Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure efficient production and safety.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with one to two years of previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience.
  • Basic Skills: Basic reading, writing, and math skills, including reading a tape measure, are required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Forklift experience and experience operating radial arm saws are preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting and Mobility: Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and regularly walk, stand, and bend.
