Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the City of New York. As a key member of our Bureau of Wastewater Treatment, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs for Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation equipment at our wastewater resource recovery facilities.

About Us: The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is responsible for providing high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. Our team is committed to excellence and innovation in maintaining our city's infrastructure.

Your Role: As a Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with Facility Managers, chiefs, and supervisors to plan upcoming maintenance assignments and coordinate with other work at the facility. You will advise on industrial maintenance planning and scheduling techniques and perform complex work involving wastewater treatment and collections systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage information and data of existing assets
  • Complete asset inventory audits and capture relevant information
  • Manage collection, analysis, and reporting of various data streams
  • Diagnose and analyze maintenance data to provide analytics and corrective actions
  • Develop reliability-centered maintenance data and information for critical assets
  • Participate in cross-functional teams through Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and maintenance improvement strategies
  • Assist with spare parts and stores management systems
  • Prepare periodic updates and annual reports to Operations Directors and stakeholders

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you must have a valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer and six years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or plan examining work, with at least two years in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
