Key Responsibilities
The Senior Vice President of Real Estate Operations plays a crucial role in shaping strategies that maximize returns on real estate investments. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Collaborating with the management team to develop and implement policies and initiatives.
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of property assets, including financial distributions and preservation strategies.
- Working alongside Asset Management to explore refinancing options, develop corrective action plans, and create long-term financial strategies for properties.
- Reviewing property budgets and capital plans to ensure alignment with industry standards.
- Coordinating rehabilitation projects in partnership with Development.
- Providing detailed analysis and reporting to investors and lenders.
- Integrating new properties into Asset Management reviews and monitoring their financial performance.
- Developing and updating a strategic plan on an annual basis.
- Overseeing financial performance assessments against initial projections.
- Managing performance reports for Senior Leadership and Executive Teams.
- Leading the budgeting process to enhance efficiency and revenue generation.
- Ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory requirements during budget development.
- Offering analytical support during budget presentations to stakeholders.
- Maintaining accountability within the team through clear objectives and regular evaluations.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships across various departments.
- Overseeing risk management strategies related to compliance and crisis preparedness.
- Ensuring the integrity of compliance reporting for the property portfolio.
- Utilizing strong negotiation skills in interactions with contractors and vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in asset or real estate management.
- Experience managing a diverse portfolio of properties, including both market-rate and affordable housing.
- Proven track record of high client satisfaction in managing multi-unit properties.
