The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a warm welcome and exceptional service to all patients at CityMD.
This role involves registering patients and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure efficient service delivery.
The individual in this position addresses patient inquiries and concerns with urgency and compassion, both via phone and in person, while managing all documentation related to patient registration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients with a friendly demeanor.
- Organize and manage patient intake and appointment scheduling.
- Accurately input and update patient information in the system.
- Assist patients in completing necessary paperwork when required.
- Scan, update, and maintain medical records efficiently.
- Respond to phone calls and inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Process medical insurance details, verify patient eligibility, and address any questions regarding insurance, coordinating with the Billing department as needed.
- Handle cash transactions and co-payments with accuracy and care.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to every patient.
- Communicate waiting room status and patient inquiries to the site manager or assistant site manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Positive, welcoming attitude towards patients and colleagues.
- Experience in a high-volume service environment (e.g., hospitality, healthcare, retail) is preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and a collaborative team player.
- Proficient in computer usage and possess strong typing skills (approximately 55 wpm).
- Adaptable to work in a dynamic environment.
- Passionate about assisting others in a healthcare setting.
- Able to effectively interact with physicians, patients, and staff.
- Bilingual skills are preferred based on location.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods; significant computer use is required.
