Job Summary:

A Service Field Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with the replacement of glass in windows and doors, installing window screens, and meeting company safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive up to 6 hours in a single day to complete service jobs in the field.
  • Replace glass in windows or doors, install window screens, and install window and door sash, hardware, etc.
  • Perform job site walk-throughs, complete necessary paperwork, and identify items that need attention or correction prior to project finalization.
  • Meet company safety requirements by maintaining a clean work area, following safety precautions, and wearing required safety apparel.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform and complete service jobs on products in the field, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in the field, providing effective solutions to customers.
  • Provide customers with helpful information on the care, operation, and maintenance of their products.
  • Generate and update all service-related records in the Service Module following a service visit, enabling additional service calls and billing or credit completion.
  • Conduct follow-up service work or communication to achieve a Very Satisfied Customer Service Rating from all customers, serving as a Customer Service Champion at all times.
  • Identify and order necessary parts to complete service jobs.
  • Load the Service van with all necessary parts and equipment on an as-needed basis, no less than weekly.
  • Maintain assigned Service vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Complete service work orders and communicate any ongoing customer or product-related issues with advisors.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be in compliance with company Fleet Safety Policy.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to drive up to 6 hours in a single day.
  • Ability to use/read/follow a map.
  • Window and/or door experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift pounds.
  • Ability to work off a ladder, up to 40 feet.
  • Able to use hand and power tools safely and correctly.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens are required.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stand on your feet up to 8 hours a day.
Entry Level Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Great communication skills to work with customers.
  • Amazing problem-solving skills.
  • A technical degree is preferable.
  • Ability to diagnose problems with equipment.
  • Great mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
