Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Researcher to join our Vulnerability Assessment Research team. You'll conduct research and testing to enhance automation processes, analyze existing solutions, and collaborate with teams to solve problems and drive technical best practices.
Your Impact- You will conduct research and testing, develop and maintain vulnerability content, and ensure a smooth workflow for identifying, validating, and mitigating security risks.
- You will analyze existing solutions, identify barriers to quality, recommend changes, and implement them.
- You will take part in architecture strategy sessions and design solutions that accommodate the requirements of various groups across Cortex.
- You will collaborate with teams to solve problems, reduce technical debt, and evolve development practices.
- You will mentor other researchers and ensure that your team delivers high-quality output.
- You will take ownership of projects, drive them to completion, and support them in production.
- You should have 5+ years of experience in vulnerability management, penetration testing, or security research.
- You should have a strong understanding of TCP/IP and networking protocols.
- You should be familiar with common open-source security software such as Nuclei, OpenVAS, and Nmap.
- You should have a deep understanding of Windows, Linux, macOS, and Unix-based systems.
- You should have knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and vulnerability methodologies.
- You should be familiar with current penetration and security assessment tools such as Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, Wireshark, etc.
- You should be able to switch between research, design, prototype, and implementation.
- You should be proficient in Python and familiar with Java, Golang, C/C++, or RUST.
- You should have demonstrated cybersecurity knowledge with base-level certifications (e.g., OSCP, GPEN, or Pentest+) or be willing to obtain them.
The estimated salary for this position is $157,000 - $255,000 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and work location. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus.
