Job Overview

Position Summary: The Drop Crew at Wire3 is tasked with the installation of underground coaxial and fiber optic cable lines for both residential and commercial clients. Our technicians utilize a range of specialized equipment to efficiently bury drops, including vibrator plows, boring machines, and various hand tools. No prior experience is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and avoid damage to existing utilities.
  • Locate unmarked utilities and customer installations, such as pet fences and irrigation systems.
  • Restore work sites to their original condition post-installation.
  • Interpret technical drawings and complete all required documentation.
  • Discuss all requested and current services with clients prior to new installations.
  • Operate machinery for trenching and boring to facilitate cable burial.
  • Utilize handheld devices for task management and job completion.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Take responsibility for any damages incurred during the installation process.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in operating trenching and boring machinery is preferred.
  • Ability to walk distances while managing equipment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.
  • Successful completion of background and motor vehicle record checks is required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
