Mental Health Care Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team at Northern Light Acadia Hospital. This is a full-time position with a salary of approximately $55,000 per year.
About the Role
As a Psychiatric Technician I, you will provide therapeutic care for individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team under the supervision of professional staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
+ Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report any changes in behavior or physical ailments to professional staff.
+ Respond to patient needs, taking into consideration developmental stage and psychiatric symptoms.
+ Maintain appropriate boundaries and take a mindful approach to all patient interactions.
+ Function within the patient care team to focus on successful treatment and stabilization.
+ Maintain a safe environment by complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures, reporting and addressing environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
+ Perform other duties as requested.

Education and Working Conditions
+ High school diploma or general educational development (GED) required.
+ Potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive people.
+ Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing.
+ Extend body and limbs to reach items.
+ Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
+ Lifting, moving, and loading less than 20 pounds.
